No species-level treatment rule should be inferred from the plate appearance of Kocuria rhizophila alone. The first practical step is to decide whether the isolate is clinically meaningful or represents contamination.

If true infection is suspected, susceptibility testing should be performed on the individual isolate. This is particularly important because published clinical experience remains limited and the organism is still uncommon in routine human microbiology.

In many cases, the interpretive question is more important than the therapeutic one: is the organism a genuine pathogen, or is it an incidental recovery from skin or environment?
